Collection: The Anne Lister Collection

Wear your love proudly for everyone's favorite first "modern lesbian." Diarist, landowner, entrepreneur, mountaineer, intrepid traveler -- Anne Lister embodied all of these monikers. This collection includes much love for Anne, as well as for her incredible wife, Ann Walker, who is a hero to us. It also includes much love for writer/producer/director Sally Wainright's phenomenal "Gentleman Jack" TV series.

Anne Lister left 26 volumes of diaries behind when she passed away in 1840. A third of which were written in a crypt-hand code she devised to secretly record her romantic relationships with women. In 2011, UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) named her journals a pivotal document in British history, adding them to its Memory of the World register as “a comprehensive and painfully honest account of lesbian life and reflections on her nature.”
